Betzwood Trailhead is part of the 3,500 acre Valley Forge National Historical Park. This large, wooded trailhead provides parking for at least 80 cars in a pleasant setting and provides restrooms, drinking water, picnic area, boat launch and access to more miles of great trails within the park.
TRAIL UPDATE – SULLIVAN’S BRIDGE: A new 14-foot wide, 602-foot long bike/pedestrian bridge over the Schuylkill River was recently completed, connecting Valley Forge National Historical Park to the Schuylkill River Trail. Known as Sullivan’s Bridge, it replaced a wooden plank bridge alongside Route 422. Learn more
The SRT section from Valley Forge to Mont Clare is mostly off road with a paved surface and a gentle grade of less than 3%. However, a short section of trail south of Mont Clare is currently on road. The trail from Valley Forge to the city limits of Philadelphia is off-road with a paved surface and gentle grade.
