The Schuylkill River Greenways NHA, in partnership with Sly Fox Brewery, will celebrate the Earth Day return of SRT Ale with a series of recreational events and trail cleanups along the Schuylkill River Trail on April 20 & 21. Sign up today for one of our SRT Spree Trail Cleanups! All cleanups limited to 30 volunteers. All participants will receive SRT Spree swag; volunteers aged 21 & over will get a voucher for a free SRT Ale to be used at the SRT Spree festival in Mont Clare or the Sly Fox Tastin’ Room in Pottstown on April 20 or 21. This year, we once again have three cleanups planned. To sign up for one or more cleanups, click the links below.
- Friday April 20, 5-7 pm: Pottstown Riverfront Park Cleanup. We will clean trash along the river and Manatawny Creek. Volunteers are invited to join us afterward when we head over to Sly Fox Tastin’ Room to taste the season’s first SRT Ale!
- Saturday April 21, 9-11:30 pm: Schuylkill River Trail Clean Up in Reading area Participants will assist with a trail project in the Reading area. We will also greet cyclists who are riding the 9-11 Trail as they come through Reading! Afterwards, all are welcome to join us at the SRT Spree music festival in Mont Clare.
- Saturday April 21, 12-2 pm: Lock 60 Clean Up. Participants will help clean up the area along the canal and river at the Schuylkill Canal Association’s Lock 60
Other events, hosted by Sly Fox Brewery, include a 50K relay race and a free music festival at St. Michael’s Park, located at 203 Jacob St. in Mont Clare, across the river from Phoenixville.
Since a portion of the proceeds from the new beer will support the Schuylkill River Heritage Area to promote, improve and maintain the Schuylkill River Trail, we want to celebrate by holding several trail cleanups.
