Located in the Grand Canyon in Arizona. The Bright Angel Trail stretches for 3 km and can be grueling not only because it is steep, but also because of the high temperatures. Nevertheless, the scenery you see during the hike is breathtaking and all the effort is worth it.
Not surprisingly, one of Arizona’s most famous hikes is in one of America’s most amazing natural wonders. Bright Angel Trail takes you from the edge of the South Rim of the Grand Canyon down into the canyon. You can hike directly to the Colorado River, but it takes more than a day. Several points along the trail offer good spots for day hikes and make it anywhere from a half-mile walk to a strenuous 12-mile hike. The trail is steep and hugs the canyon wall with huge drop-offs on the outer edge. Anyone with a fear of heights may want to think twice before starting up this trail. Conditions vary greatly depending on the season, from icy and snowy in the winter to hot in the summer.
